Hi, I’m Lloyd Alrey Scott, EA.

I founded LA SmartBooks because I believe financial clarity creates freedom.

My journey began at the University of Texas at Austin, where I earned my degree in Accounting. While in school, I volunteered through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, helping low-income families prepare their tax returns and gain access to valuable tax benefits.

After graduation, I served in state government as a Sales and Use Tax Auditor, working with businesses to ensure compliance with tax regulations. During that time, I saw firsthand how disorganized bookkeeping and financial systems could create costly problems for business owners. Too often, entrepreneurs were dealing with issues that could have been prevented through better financial processes and planning.

That experience inspired me to become an Enrolled Agent and dedicate my career to helping business owners take control of their finances before small issues become major setbacks.

Today, through LA SmartBooks, I help business owners organize their bookkeeping, clean up financial records, create reliable systems, and gain confidence in their numbers. My goal is simple: help entrepreneurs spend less time worrying about finances and more time building businesses, supporting their families, and creating the freedom they set out to achieve.
